We usually recommend a Building Performance Consultation as the next step. For homeowners who are confident they are ready to implement proposed measures, we conduct an Energy Audit to draft an energy smart plan complete with cost estimates.

Both assessment services address:

* Thermal envelope performance, insulation effectiveness
* Building durability
* Air leakage
* Ventilation/air quality and other health and safety issues
* Moisture concerns

You will be credited the cost of the audit when you follow through with proposed work measures.

Building Performance Consultation – $125*

We will address your specific concerns and uncover additional opportunities for improving the health, comfort, and energy savings of your home. The consultation is a flexible performance assessment service that is designed to provide you with:

* Greater understanding of how the systems of your home affect your quality of life and energy consumption
* The most effective ways of improving the performance and energy efficiency of your home
* A brief write-up of our findings

Additional diagnostics are often required before an accurate cost estimate for installing fixes can be provided.

Energy Audit – $350*

(Vermont residents are eligible for a $250 audit rebate)

A comprehensive assessment approach that addresses your home’s performance and identifies opportunities for improvements. We will inspect and may use diagnostic equipment to address known and newly discovered
flaws.

The Audit includes a detailed energy smart plan:

* Audit report complete with findings and recommendations for improvement
* A phased work-scope to meet your time and budget needs
* Cost estimates for proposed work measures

Home Performance Contracting – 25% to 50% energy savings

Upon reviewing the energy smart plan with you, we are ready to install the recommended home performance measures. Learn more about our Performance Contracting Services here.

* A one-way travel cost may be added to the fee for the consult and the energy audit.
