BPI, Building Performance Institute, is recognized as the leading credentialing and quality assurance provider in the building performance industry. Mark Lantz is one of very few BPI recognized contractors in Massachusetts. Efficiency Vermont Efficiency Vermont is to Vermont as MassSAVE is to Massachusetts. Both are residential energy efficiency programs funded in part by a sur-charge on your utility bill. Cozy Home Performance is a partnered contractor with Efficiency VT so we can offer utility incentive money and subsidized financing to our eligible VT clients. We hope that the pending restructuring of MassSAVE for 2010 makes utility incentives available to homeowners who want to work with performance contractors for aggressive energy savings.

Home Performance with Energy Star is a national program form the U.S. EPA and U.S. DOE. Cozy Home Performance is a participating contractor in the federal program. We employ a comprehensive whole house approach to improving the energy efficiency of your home.

Efficiency FirstCozy Home Performance is proud to be a founding member of the first trade association that represent the home performance industry. Currently Efficiency First is lobbying on Capital Hill to pass the REEP (Retrofit for Environmental and Energy Performance) component of the controversial climate bill. This bill would provide federal incentives to homeowners who increase the efficiency of their homes. The result would be a dramatic increase of energy retrofits resulting in more jobs, less heating bills, and stunning CO2 reductions.

SnellGroupInfrared cameras are amazing technology that can be invaluable to diagnosing and communicating inconsistencies in the building envelope. Mark Lantz of Cozy Home Performance is The Snell Group certified to assure our clients we use our infrared equipment to the highest professional standards. To be certified under The Snell Group Certification Standard, you must show that you have not only have the required knowledge, but that you can prove proficiency with the infrared camera in person under proper testing conditions.

Weatherization Assistance Program

This federal program is the core Dept. of Energy (DOE) program for reducing energy costs for low-income (<200% of federal poverty level) families through increased home energy efficiency. Receiving a dramatic increase in funding in 2009 from the economic stimulus, this program has established aggressive goals in Massachusetts. The WAP program is administered by local Community Action Partnered agencies. Cozy Home Performance is grateful for the opportunity to provide high quality home performance retrofits to low-income homeowners. We are further encouraged that the WAP program and area CAP agencies have set high standards for remediation work, assuring that the most cost effective and highest quality upgrades are installed.

Greenfield Community College Renewable Energy/ Energy Efficiency

Cozy Home Performance is a partnered contractor with GCC’s RE/EE degree and certificate programs. We are not only Involved in curriculum development and job placement, but we have several crew members enrolled in the certificate program. Building science is a true science; GCC is providing our region with a fantastic program to prepare the energy efficiency workforce to serve Western MA.
